well that was a disappointment. they found some stupid nerve agent in the freaking russell senate building last night so larry king covered that instead. i have a number of problems with this. first being that we used to say that the only thing yet to happen while we were working for the senate was that we never got to don our crazy masks and run down the halls in a mad panic over a chemical or biological scare. we had this crappy training on how to use the hoods for nothing. and sure enough, this semester there ends up being a scare. just my luck. second is that it was a waste of time to cover this 'unfolding event' because all tests turned our negative anyway. and finally, who knows when the full house cast might be able to appear again at the same time. i'm sure they all have busy lives (aside from uncle joey). maybe by some miracle they will appear sooner, but it probably won't be weeks before they can each get the same day off and come back on. and i'm sure it will be a day that i miss it. would have been cool to be at the senate during it all though. we'd get announcements every now and then about suspicious packages on our floor and in our building and to stay away from that area. we also got a bunch of announcments when some kook parked his car right by us and said there was a bomb in it. some of the best times there was being able to watch so many events happening on tv, as it happened like a block from us. including when the capitol police blew up whatever was in the car. good times.
Kinsey (2005): it was okay i guess. nothing special though. liam neeson is good, but i felt like i never really got a grip on his character. you just never really understand the type of person he is and what he might do next. the ending wasn't the best either. by talking to this one random lady, he realizes in five seconds that he's actually helped people. then he says he loves his wife. the end. they didn't even put up text on the screen that tells us what happened to him afterward or the real impact it had in the world. all i really got from the movie was that there was that a bunch of swingers from the 50s who were led by a professor named kinsey. i don't know. it just didn't do anything for me. i got very little out of it. he didn't even reconcile with his dad. and maybe this is just accurately how his life was. i guess not everyone lives a movie life. then in that case, fabricate a few things or don't make a movie about that person. don't see.
i have a freaking awful headache this morning. kim leaves tonight for las vegas so i'm on my own for a few days. not like i have anything of great worth i'll be doing. did anyone care enough to watch the wammy's last night? i'm so glad to see stupid ass mariah lose the big ones. and very glad to see u2 take home some nice honors. i'm totally against these stupid awards, but to see u2 win is always nice. that's one band that i don't in mind that their egos are the size of, well, something really big.
best director is a really hard one to pick. steven spielberg is amazing no doubt about that, but i think he's won enough for now. i'm gonna have to go with george clooney again. ang lee will get his glory when brokeback wins best picture. which leads me to my best picture prediction. not that i have to repeat myself, but brokeback was such an amazing movie. best pic all the way. the producers is playing at the dollar theater this weekend so you'll probably find me there. and i hope i get my jeep today or tomorrow so i can spend the weekend unpacking.
myspace sucks by the way. i can't get the freaking 'what i'm listening to now' thing to work. i search for artists that i know are in the freaking database and nothing shows up. just one of the many reasons myspace is more trouble than it's worth. i had a jones cream soda last night and guess what i won from looking under the cap? "Children will play an important role in your life." it doesn't specify whether it is my children or someone else's. i'd prefer that it be no one's children. so i don't know if this is a good or bad thing. we've been talking about it, but it's still really up in the air. hey, speaking of, my fellow senate compadre brak told me two nights ago that they are expecting a kid in august i think. that's pretty exciting. although, not that i'm judging them or anything, but i don't think they've known each other a year yet. they met last spring, got married last august, and will have the kid just in time for their year anniversary. i know for a fact that the two of them will stay together forever and have a million kids, but this is the looniness that is the mormon culture. for people who have such 'eternal perspectives' they are always in such a hurry to get things moving. and i also don't understand how some couples will have sex when she is on the pill or they are using some other method, and get preggers like the first time around. we've been so good as to not get pregnant and we're on three a and half years running now. what if it's just because we can't have kids and we don't even know it? that would pretty much suck. save us money on buying birth control at least. anyways, be careful out there people. babies can be a scary thing.
